When I wake up in the morning I almost always have a song in my head.  Does that happen to you?  Sometimes it’s music I do not like, but usually it is something good (good meaning something I like!) and it influences the music I will listen to that day.  I woke up January 7th with “Starman” by David Bowie in my head and proceeded to listen to Bowie most of the day.  The next morning turned out to be David Bowie’s birthday, so the music marathon continued and I made this drawing.

INK26squeak

Ink, 8″ x 6″

This was my drawing for Inktober Day 26: Squeak.  My inspiration was the R.O.U.S.es in the Princess Bride.

“Rodents Of Unusual Size?  I don’t think they exist.”

I have mixed feelings about my Inktober efforts.  On one hand I am disappointed that I didn’t get all of the days done.  On the other hand I don’t think I’ve ever done 20 blog posts in one month (possibly even 2!) and some of the drawings I’m really pleased with.  I have preliminary pencil sketches done for a few of the days that I missed.  Two of them I particularly like and am thinking of completing, even though Inktober is over.  Then I will call it done.

So… November.  I have missed woodcut printmaking and have two prints I want to complete this month.   More drawings, more Urban Sketching.  That’s the plan.

INK17graceful

I am determined to catch up on my Inktober drawings and posts this weekend.  The prompt for day 17 was “graceful” and I chose Princess Buttercup on horseback in The Princess Bride.  Sometimes things don’t work out the way you want and you just have to call it done and move on.

Your feed will be flooded with my other catching up posts later today.  Three other Inktober drawing’s are complete and not yet posted, and another will be done this afternoon.  That is the plan, anyway!
