Who is Siver Black?

Me!  Robert James.  I am an artist and I live in Texas with my wife and two children.  More details?  Ok.  I like pencils, tea, rainy days, and tacos.

What will we see on Siver Black’s blog?

Here you will see pages from my sketchbooks, both new and old.  Pencil and ink are the usual tools.  Lately I’ve been drawing on top of paint on top of writing.  I’m a compulsive list-maker and when I’m done with the list or notes I paint over it and that becomes the drawing surface.  Sometimes I add collage elements or things typed out on an old typewriter.  Haikus have a way of occasionally working their way into my drawings, too.

My intention is  to post to the blog three times a week.  Usually Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Anything else?

Thanks for looking!  I hope to see you visit again soon.

    • Thank you so much, Jason! I’m enjoying looking at your metro drawings.

I just had a look at your blog- It’s great! I especially love the dinosaur sketches. Very nice drawings.
Thanks for checking out my blog!

  5. Love your sketches! And I too am a list-maker, then I make lists about lists I have. It’s never ending! 🙂

    • Goodness, no, it never does end! Sometimes they’re helpful. Sometimes I find myself repeating a list in a different place or different book. So silly. I’m glad you came to look and thanks for the comment.

  6. Just found your blog through Danny Gregory’s site. Nice work. A list is sometimes like a poem, don’t you think?

    • Thanks, Joy! Love that Danny Gregory. I haven’t thought about lists as poetry- I like it!

  7. I have nominated you for a Liebster Blog Award. This is such a cool site!
