Three Inktober Drawings

Ink, 8″ x 10″
As mentioned previously the most difficult thing for me about daily drawing challenges is posting the work regularly. I have three days worth! Instead of making three separate posts I thought I would just put them together here. These are all Sktchy inspired drawings, like all of my other Inktober drawings this year. If you don’t know about Sktchy check it out here. If you like to draw people or want to have people draw you or your pets or family get Sktchy.
Above is today’s drawing. There was supposed to be red ink in this one but I changed my mind as it progressed.

Above is yesterday’s drawing. Man, I was feeling really good about this as it went on. When I started adding the red ink I discovered a fatal error; at some point early on I accidentally started using a pen with water-soluble ink. The red ink made it all the detail work dissolve. I still like it. The drawing is strong enough for it to still work. But it’s not what I wanted.
About the pens: I have 2 each of my favorite pens so one can be filled with waterproof ink and one with water-soluble ink. They are clearly marked and normally they are separate to avoid a mistake like this one. But yesterday they were all in a tray together because of some lazy tidying up and I didn’t double check. I was rather irritated with myself. Live and learn.

This last one is from Wednesday. I do believe the Big Bad Wolf would turn and run from Little Red here. Or maybe he tried and failed.
I don’t think I have done any kind of horror illustration since I was a teenager. Exploring some weird and creepy stuff in my Inktober drawings this year has been a ton of fun. I don’t have any more planned that are gruesome like this one. Just some more masks, skulls, face paint and a couple clowns.
You’re right, the red ink smudging the black really works ☺
