Ink Portrait, In Process

Pencil, Ink, Gouache, 5″ x 8″
While drawing last night I stood the book up on the table in order to view from a short distance. It is helpful to change perspective in order to better see what is working and what is not. Flipping the work upside down or looking at it in the mirror also helps.
I have discovered I need glasses. Objects at a distance are fine, but reading or examining up close just doesn’t work like it used to. I discovered this while drawing. Looking back and forth from subject to drawing/ painting requires a moment for my eyes to adjust. It makes my brain say, “Wait, what? Oh, okay.”
On one hand I am a bit frustrated with this new sign of aging. But on the other I am looking forward to picking out frames. I hope to find something interesting.
If you are tempted to post a comment like ,”Oh! He needs glasses. That explains why the drawings look…”, you better have some smiley-face emojis to go with it! Two or three at least.
Welcome to the club. Your drawings still amaze me. 😊😊😊
Thank you!
Glasses or no glasses, I think the drawings look great! 🙂
