A drawing from the summer, after a photo of the great Leonard Cohen.
The materials and technique here are crossing back and forth from drawing to painting a bit. I used a Pentel brush pen loaded with black ink, a Faber-Castell white marker, and a white gel roller-ball that likes to glob up continuously. All of that on top of sepia gouache. While doing the sepia wash I had way too much water on the paper and blotted it off with a paper towel whose texture made a dotted pattern in some places.
I have a plan to breathe some new life into this blog. We all know what they say about “best laid plans”, but I will do my best. I have missed it.
