Paint sketch. Both words can be verbs or nouns! How confusing. This is an old self-portrait done in acrylic. Fast and loose with minimal sketching, using two colors plus white.

Never thought about it that way, but pretty smart indeed. Makes me wonder if I really “sketch” or “draw” on the days when my “sketch” is rather detailed and goes beyond loose line work. Love the piece, BTW.
Thanks, Jason. I know what you mean about sketch vs. draw. There is a phrase of yours that has stuck with me since I read it: “Planting seeds, not oak trees”. Sometimes the seeds grow faster than we intend- if that makes any sense!
